Crisis Stabilization Beds Program

The Crisis Stabilization Beds Program offers short-term, voluntary, non-medical residential beds for up to five individuals in crisis or in need of respite, at no cost. As a partner in the larger crisis response system of services, the Crisis Stabilization Beds Program provides an opportunity for support within an alternative, less intrusive environment that can help to divert a potential emergency visit from hospital. Our five-bedroom house is located in Kitchener and the program offers 24/7 staffing support. Stays at Crisis Stabilization Beds are voluntary and each individual agrees to follow program expectations.

Short-Term Crisis Stays

Short-term crisis beds provide 24-hour support to individuals who need assistance to manage their crisis. The length of stay for Crisis Stabilization Beds is determined based on individual need and is re-evaluated regularly during an individual’s stay. The average length of stay is approximately five (5) days. Admission to the program occurs on the same day as the initial telephone screening is completed. The Crisis Stabilization Beds program does not maintain a waitlist for beds.
